2D numerical investigation of liquid dispersion in rotating packed bed and its comparison with experimental measurements using high-speed camera

Study deals with liquid dispersion of water in unstructured wire mesh rotating packed bed, experimentally investigated using high speed camera. Dispersed outer region bed were captured by high-speed camera and droplet size image processing. Numerical simulations performed on two – dimensional plane similar geometry characteristics (diameter distance between each wire). Volume fluid method was used to describe a multiphase behaviour phenomena turbulence modelled k-epsilon model. Results both compared basis frequency distribution individual fraction dispersed its velocities. Discussion focused possibility 2D numerical investigation comparison experimental measurement.
